Gartenteufel

In our terraced garden, we have slowly added roses.  Two of my favorites are Fritz-Walter-Rosen, named in the 1990s for the World Cup 1954 Hero from 1. FC Kaiserslautern.  But I was not satisified to just have the two roses alone.  I have been looking for a while for a sculpture to accent the roses.  I met an artist, Uschi Weber, at the Kaiserslautern Herbstmarkt 2010.  I told her of an idea I had, and the result is this wonderful "Gartenteufel" (Garden Devil) who is singing Horst Schneider's Betzelied for Fritz' Roses...

"Wenn am Wochenend' die Massen in die Fußballstadien zieh'n..."

We picked the Gartenteufel up at the Gartenschau during a Middle Ages Market on 1 May 2011.  I had only seen pictures of the devil in the raw, pre-baked form (see below).  Here is how I found him when we picked him up.
